After being sued by a group of major online video providers last week for copyright violation, Chinese Internet firm Baidu has taken down some pirated videos on its video app, Sohu Video told the Global Times Monday.

The group of online video providers, including Youku Tudou, Sohu Video, Tencent Video and LeTV, which sued Baidu, are glad to see Baidu taking this action but they still require Baidu to do the same on its media player for PCs, Sohu said.

The group alleged that Baidu's media player played their copyrighted content by using an automated process, and links to pirated content are also available.

A court in Beijing's Haidian district started hearings on the case brought by the alliance against Baidu on November 14, Sohu said.
