Seven billion yuan (1.14 billion U.S. dollars) worth of treasury bonds was issued to institutional investors in Hong Kong on Thursday, the Ministry of Finance said.
Thursday's issuance includes 5 billion yuan in three-year bonds and 2 billion yuan in five-year bonds.
The issuance is part of the ministry's program to issue 10 billion yuan in bonds in Hong Kong. The remaining 3 billion yuan will be issued in two-year bonds to individual investors in Hong Kong between Friday, Nov. 22 and Dec. 5.
A total of 23 billion yuan in treasury bonds will be issued in Hong Kong, including 13 billion yuan in treasury bonds issued there on June 26.
