Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp Corporation plans to sell this winter its indium-gallium- zinc oxide (IGZO) liquid crystal display panels to China, local media reported Friday.
The IGZO panels to supply for a Chinese maker will be made at Sharp's Kameyama No. 2 plant located in Mie Prefecture, and the company will start production by the end of this month, said reports of the daily Yomiuri Shimbun.
By far, there has been no official announcement from Sharp. However, a spokesperson for the Japanese company told Xinhua that the reports are based on the Chinese maker's report, adding that Osaka-based Sharp would strengthen its ties with smartphone makers in China to enhance its production capacity at the factory with its energy-efficient panel technology.
