The commerce authority in Beijing has requested catering businesses to remove six unfair requirements for consumers.
The requirements include that consumers have to pay for the tableware, that consumers must promise they will spend a certain amount of money to use a VIP room and that consumers are forbidden from drinking liquor they bring into the restaurant, the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce said on Monday, noting catering businesses that have such requirements must rectify them within one month.
It also encourages consumers to report violations to commerce authorities.
