Japanese car maker Nissan will recall 2,855 of its luxury brand of Infiniti starting on Dec 24, China's quality watchdog said Thursday.
The recall involves Infiniti M25L and M35L sedans manufactured between Jan 19, 2012 and Aug 26, 2013, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
Those vehicle may have defective rear-door locks, which in extreme cases may appear to be locked while it is actually not, thus posing safety hazards, the statement said.
Nissan China Investment Co Ltd will replace faulty parts for affected car owners free of charge, according to the statement.
