The official website of China's central bank, the People's bank of China, crashed on Wednesday afternoon. Reports say it may have been caused by bitcoin players.
Employees from the central bank say they have repaired the website, which is now up and running. Meanwhile, the bank's microblog on Sina Weibo has also been overloaded with comments apparently from Bitcoin players.
Earlier this month, the people's bank of China issued a notice warning of the risks of the bitcoin trade, and ordered third party payment providers not to accept bitcoins.
