Guangdong's GDP is expected to reach 6.23 trillion yuan ($1.03 trillion) this year, the Guangzhou-based Nanfang Daily reported Wednesday, citing the provincial development and reform commission.
Based on preliminary statistics, South China's economic hub Guangdong Province will record an 8.5 percent growth year-on-year in GDP, becoming the only province in the country to have its GDP surpassing 6 trillion, said the provincial commission.
As a result, Guangdong will top the nation by GDP volumes for the 25th consecutive year.
