China businesses show cautious optimism on economic prospects in 2014, the latest Grant Thornton International Business Report showed on Wednesday.
According to the report, 38 percent of the respondents are optimistic for the outlook of China's economy over the next 12 months, and 46 percent are neither optimistic nor pessimistic, with 16 percent pessimistic.
The survey also revealed that, in the fourth quarter of 2013, fewer Chinese businesses were concerned about future economic uncertainty than in the previous quarter, dropping 9 percentage points.
The reforms introduced by the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee lay a foundation for economic sustainable growth and structural readjustment for China in 2014, which alleviated mainland businesses' concern for economic risk, the report said.
