Telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies Monday refuted a report claiming that the Huawei communication network in Ethiopia is overpriced and of an inferior quality.
"Huawei so far still did not build any communications network in Ethiopia," a report on news portal huanqiu.com cited a Huawei statement as saying. "Thus recent media reports about the quality of the local communication network do not concern Huawei services and products."
The Wall Street Journal reported on January 6 the communication network in Ethiopia, mainly built by Chinese telecommunications equipment maker ZTE, is pricey and of a low quality.
The report said Huawei is also seeking a presence in the country.
