A former bank official in Beijing admitted on Tuesday that he took more than 13 million yuan ($2.1 million) in bribes, Beijing Times reported.
Han Lifeng, former president of the Beijing Rural Commercial Bank branch in Pinggu district, told the prosecution during the trial that he accepted about 13.18 million yuan in bribes from two real estate companies.
Prosecutors said Han provided benefits for the companies, such as helping them to obtain loans.
A verdict was not announced at the end of the trial.
