Plane maker share price down

The share price of AVIC Aircraft Co is down 2.91 percent to 8.68 yuan ($1.42) per share at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Wednesday after a plane accident.

This came after a homemade Modern Ark 60 (MA60), operated by Okay Airways and flying from Tianjin to Shenyang, was forced to delay its descent by malfunctioning landing gear on Tuesday. The plane landed safely.

AVIC Aircraft Co's majority stakeholder is the AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co, maker of the MA60.

AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co said Tuesday it will soon apply to the civil aviation authority to ground the plane for safety checkups.
