German automaker Volkswagen has decided to recall 9,037 Caddy vans in China starting from Thursday owing to a tailgate problem, China's top quality watchdog announced Thursday.
The recall affects Caddy vans built between December 2004 and July 2007, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in an announcement on its website.
The automaker also said Thursday it is recalling about 600,000 Caddy vans globally due to the same problem.
