Chinese shares tumbled during midday Monday after economic data over the weekend showed a sharp drop in exports.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.69 percent, or 34.69 points, to finish at 2,023.22.
The Shenzhen Component Index declined 1.45 percent, or 106.47 points, to close at 7,222.02.
