Fiji is slowly becoming a hot travel destination for Chinese tourists whose number is expected to grow, local media reported Tuesday.
Over the past few years, Chinese tourists in Fiji grew by 10 percent, said the government-owned Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reported, citing Pacific economist Daniel Wilson, who presented the outlook for Fiji for the next two years to businesses and stakeholders earlier this week.
More Chinese are traveling abroad for holidays and Fiji will be able to attract some of them, Wilson said.
According to the broadcaster, more than 23,000 Chinese tourists visited Fiji last year.
