Gome Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd, one of China's largest private consumer electronics devices retailers, said on Thursday that it will purchase mobile communication services from China Mobile.
After signing the contract with China Mobile, the country's largest carrier by subscribers, Gome will repackage the mobile communication service from the carrier and sell it to end-customers under its own brand, news portal yicai.com reported.
A staff member of Gome told yicai.com that the firm will further strengthen the integration of its industrial chain, thanks to its cooperation with China Mobile.
So far, Gome has signed such contracts with all three of China's State carriers - China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom.
Gome launched its own mobile virtual network operator last week, and conducted phone call tests of cell numbers starting with "170."
The company has set up cooperation with the country's major carriers, Gome said, and it plans to start selling cell numbers in April.
