Air China, the country's leading carrier, said on Monday that it had started two new flights to Myanmar's Yangon as traffic demand between the two countries soars.
The two are a direct Beijing-Yangon flight and a Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon route.
There are four flights every week between Beijing and Yangon, which are serviced by Boeing 737 aircraft, while the Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon flight is serviced on a daily basis by Airbus A320 aircraft.
Between 2010 and 2012, air traffic between Chinese cities and Yangon jumped 30 percent year on year on average.
