Real estate giant China Vanke is constructing three children's hospitals in Shanghai and also Guangzhou and Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong Province, financial news portal caixin.com reported Monday.
Wang Shi, the company's chairman, said at a conference on Sunday that Vanke is using its company share assets to fund the hospitals.
According to Wang, the hospitals are aimed at "curing the poor and the wealthy, but will use the money earned to support the poor to seek medical care," while also targeting at "curing difficult diseases requiring advanced technology."
Wang decided to invest company share assets and profits derived from these assets in public welfare in 2011, caixin said.
