In the afternoon of April 7, 2014, the cooperation deal on beef import from Kenya to China was signed between Xia Baowen, president of Malaysia International Wholesale (China) Centre and Adula, representative of the Kenyan government.
With its over two million cattle, the Juba Valley company represented by Adula is a large husbandry base in East Africa, playing a significant role in Kenya. This time, the Juba Valley company came to the PKFZ International Trade and Halal Industry Development Center in the hope of establishing everlasting cooperation relationship with the center and promoting its export of beef and leather product. The cooperation deal is expected to expand China's beef import, thus satisfying the demand of China's beef market.
Adula said, as the Kenyan husbandry base, his company is in dire need of a strong distribution network and a market, so as to export huge amount of beef product. Therefore, a great significance has been attached to the PKFZ International Trade and Halal Industry Development Center, with its large trading platform as well as rich resources. The signing of this deal would lay a great foundation for both sides' further cooperation.
Xia Baowen said he warmly welcomes Adula's visit. China and Kenya established diplomatic relations in 1963. Their relationship has always been good for years and their trade volume in 2012 reached 2.84 billion U.S. dollars. Kenya is not only the financial center in East Africa, but also an important cooperation partner of China.
Adula's visit was a great opportunity for both sides' development, he believed, adding that their cooperation would be a happy and long-lasting journey. The aim of the PKFZ International Trade and Halal Industry Development Center is just to build an international platform that China and the world need and could benefit each other.
Xia Baowen and Aula signed the cooperation deal and took a picture together.
