The 2015 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) Spirits Selection will be held in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province of Southwest China.
CMB President Baudoin Havaux and Guiyang Vice Mayor Li Zuoxun have signed Friday in Brussels the contract over the organization of this international liquor competition.
"Liquor has a long history in China, carrying the essence of traditional culture and rich emotions of Chinese people", said Li Zuoxun at the signing ceremony.
A great variety of Chinese liquor is famous and welcomed, one of the representatives is called the "National Liquor of China" Maotai, and Guizhou Province is the place of origin of Maotai liquor, he added.
According to him, the CMB is an international wine competition with the largest scale, maximum participants and authoritatives sommelier, as well as respected review mechanism.
"China is very big consumer of alcoholic drinks", indicated the board chairman of Beijing International Wine Exchange Su Zhimin, who attended the ceremonie.
As forecast by International Wine & Spirit Research (IWSR) in their insight report for 2011-2016, Asia-Pacific Region will be the fastest runner in consumption of alcoholic drinks and China alone will see a 63.2-percent increase, to become an engine of global alcoholic drinks market.
