China's April fiscal revenue rises 9.2 pct

China's fiscal revenue climbed 9.2 percent year on year in April to reach 1.25 trillion yuan (202.92 billion U.S. dollars), the Ministry of Finance said on Monday.

Central government revenue reached 581.2 billion yuan, up 8.5 percent year on year, while local government revenue stood at 666.9 billion yuan, up 9.8 percent from the same period last year.

Of the total, revenues from domestic value-added tax gained 4.9 percent year on year to 229.4 billion yuan, while those from domestic consumption tax increased 3.8 percent to 66.9 billion yuan, the ministry said.

Revenue from income tax for enterprises and individuals rose 10.5 percent and 12.5 percent year on year to reach 328.6 billion yuan and 55.6 billion yuan respectively.

In the first four months, China's fiscal revenue climbed 9.3 percent year on year to 4.75 trillion yuan. Central government revenue reached 2.14 trillion yuan, up 7 percent and local government revenue stood at 2.62 trillion yuan, up 11.3 percent.

The country's fiscal expenditures in the first four months rose 9.6 percent from one year earlier to 3.98 trillion yuan, the ministry said.
