China Vanke Co, a China-based company principally engaged in property development business, on Tuesday unveiled the project of its pavilion for the Expo Milano 2015.
The Vanke Pavilion will recreate the concept space of "shitang" or canteen, a traditional place which continues to be part of today's Chinese society, based on the expo's theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life," Vanke Chairman Wang Shi told a press conference.
Inside the pavilion, visitors will be guided to a multi-media exhibition area with hundreds of screens depicting the life of Chinese communities and the crucial role of shitang in everyday life.
The building will feature environmental-friendly materials highlighting China Vanke's aim to help improve the social fabric of cities towards more food security and sustainable development, in line with the expo's theme.
With one national pavilion and two corporate pavilions, China will be "the strongest presence" at Expo Milano 2015 among the 147 participants, noted Giuseppe Sala, Commissioner of Italian Government for the world exposition.
