The newly reports for 2013-2014 fiscal year released by Lenovo shows the company's PC sales in the US market outnumbered Apple for the first time.
Lenovo's revenue and net profits saw significant increase in 2013 and hit a record high, according to the reports announced on Wednesday. It also said 2013 is the most successfully year for the company.
Over the 2013-2014 fiscal year, Lenovo's revenue amounted to 38.7 billion US dollars, 14.3 percent year-on-year increase; and net profits reached 817 million US dollars, 28.7 percent growth. Among this, sales of PC exceeded 55 million units, with market share reaching 17.7 percent, ranking first worldwide.
Yang Yuanqing, chairman and chief executive officer of Lenovo said the company's goal is to overtake Apple within two years to become world's largest generalized PC (desktop PC, laptop and tablet) seller.
