LinkedIn.com, the professional social network, has attracted more than 5 million Chinese users up to now, Derek Shen Boyang, president of LinkedIn China, announced at a users' gathering in Beijing over the weekend.
LinkedIn entered the Chinese mainland market with its simplified Chinese version website on February 25, and it has seen a great increase in users, according to Shen.
Chinese users can connect their LinkedIn account with WeChat, a popular mobile instant messaging app in China.
Shen said doing this connection will result in a virtual business card created for users on WeChat, and LinkedIn expects this will allow users to share and spread their professional information on WeChat, tech news portal pingwest.com reported on May 6.
Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, also attended the event and shared his experience in entrepreneurship and investment.
