The Shanghai Stock Exchange has instructed its members of securities brokerage firms to file an application before Friday for an access service to the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd, the National Business Daily reported on Monday citing sources.
The move follows the securities regulators' agreement on April 10 for integrating the networks of the mainland and Hong Kong stock exchanges, allowing mainland stock investors to trade in the Hong Kong bourse and vice versa.
This trading service is estimated to be launched as early as October this year, according to the report.
