Geely wins the third Chinese Industry Award

The awarding ceremony for the third Chinese Industry Award, hosted by the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE), was held at the Great Hall of the People on May 17.

Geely was the only auto maker that received the Chinese Industry Award, among a total of 41 enterprises and 24 projects in 12 sectors and 23 provinces and autonomous regions that got honors.

Chinese Industry Award is the highest award in the field of industry approved by the State Council. With the purpose of inspiring the enterprise to earnestly adhere to and implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, the honor goes to the enterprise and projects that keep to the Scientific Outlook on Development and the path of new-industrialization with Chinese characteristics. The awarded enterprises and projects should also represent the direction, model and spirits of Chinese industrialization, and the highest level of industrial development in China and make contribution to boosting comprehensive national strength and pushing forward the development of national economy.

Li Yizhong, Direcotor of the review committee of the Chinese Industry Award and and President of CFIE, pointed out the prize-receivers, all major players in their respective sectors, share common ground in attaching importance to implementation of innovation-driven development strategies, focusing on innovation, and having multiple key or core technologies and intellectual property rights, thus boosting the development of the whole industry and playing a exemplary and leading role in guiding the sector for sustainable development. They committed themselves to the in-depth integration of IT application with industrialization, and to accelerating product upgrading, thus improving China's international competence in industrial economics. They have made great efforts in transformation of development patterns and in improvement of the quality and efficiency of their development to make the growth of enterprises more endogenous, intensive, efficient, resource-saving and environmental friendly. They actively perform their corporate social responsibility (CSR) and serve society, a manifest of the core socialist values. They serve as a banner in leading the Chinese enterprises into the road of new-industrialization.

Li Yizhong also noted that those awarded have outstanding performance in "led by China" and "made by China". They represent the highest industrial level in China and have explored a path of new industrialization with Chinese characteristics and made vital contributions to the sustainable and sound economic growth of China. They serve as a benchmark for other enterprises in the new era. Li Yizhong expressed his hope that the award-receivers will keep pursuing more breakthroughs and make more contributions to the industrial sector.
