The Board of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) endorsed Tuesday the appointment of Fred Lam as the next chief executive officer (CEO).
The appointment of Lam will last for three years with effect from Oct. 1, 2014.
Incumbent CEO Stanley Hui will leave AA on July 10, 2014. Pending the arrival of Lam, incumbent Executive Director of Airport Operations Ng Chi-kee will be the acting CEO.
Hong Kong's Secretary for Transport and Housing Anthony Cheung said he hoped that under Lam's leadership, the AA will continue to strengthen the leading position of Hong Kong International Airport as an international and regional aviation hub, and to promote the long-term development of the airport, including the Three-Runway System and North Commercial District.
