China Shenhua Energy Co, the country's top coal producer by output, saw its May sales dropping 13.8 percent year-on-year, the National Business Daily reported on Thursday.
The May figure marks the fourth consecutive monthly decline over the same period last year.
Analysts say the country's top coal producer may be forced into giving discounts in July, as high inventory weighs on demand.
