HK Airport Authority year revenue up 13 pct

Airport Authority Hong Kong Wednesday announced that its revenue increased 12.8 percent to 14, 810 million HK dollars (about $1.911 billion) in year 2013/14.

The authority's profit attributable to the equity shareholder rose 14.9 percent to 6,454 million HK dollars. The authority declared a final dividend of 5,300 million HK dollars to the Hong Kong government.

The robust increases were attributed to growing traffic, higher retail concessions revenue and effective cost controls, the authority said.

During the year, passenger volume and aircraft movements set new records of 60.7 million and 377,476 movements respectively, both grew more than six percent. Cargo throughput rose 3.4 percent to 4.2 million tons. (1 U.S. dollar = 7.75 HK dollars)
