Alipay, a third-party online payment arm backed by China's e-commerce giant Alibaba, announced Wednesday its cooperation with a Hong Kong-listed software company to further expand its mobile payment services in the country's pharmaceutical industry.
With the technology provided by ChinaSoft International, Alipay's mobile payment services would be rapidly applied to more than 100,000 drugstores around the country, allowing its users to pay via smart devices, according to a press release e-mailed to the Global Times Wednesday.
ChinaSoft is working on a pharmaceutical information-sharing platform.
Currently, over 10,000 drugstores around China support Alipay's mobile payment services.
