The 11th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) will be held in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province October 11-14, 2014, the event's organizing committee said at a news conference in Beijing on Thursday.
The CISMEF is the largest well-known international event in China that aims to offer a "display, trade, exchange and cooperation" platform for domestic and foreign small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and is supported by Chinese government.
Different from the past, the 11th CISMEF will take place at two separate venues, the Guangzhou POLY Word Trade Center and Guangzhou International Sourcing Center. And the date has been moved from September to October, in order to attract more exhibitors and guests.
Significantly, the co-host country of the 11th CISMEF is Mexico, which is the first co-host country from North America since the first event in 2004.
About 3,000 Chinese SMEs from 31 provinces will participate this year, and the Chinese government is actively working to lift the load of domestic SMEs to promote their growth, Zhu Hongren, deputy director of the CISMEF said at Thursday's conference promoting the October event.
A total of 150 Mexican SMEs are actively preparing for this event, devoted to introduce their agricultural products and food to China, said Mexican Ambassador Julian Ventura at the conference.
They are also planning to build a new international platform for their domestic automobile industry, chemical plastic industry, and manufacturing industry, Ambassador Ventura said.
