Embraer
Embraer released Wednesday its market outlook which details the company's forecast for deliveries of new 70- to 130-seat jet aircraft over the next 20 years.
According to the report, the need for jet aircraft with between 70 to 130 seats could reach 6,250 units, of which 56 percent will be for the replacement of aging aircraft.
Also, the world fleet-in-service of jets with up to 130 seats will increase from 3,850 aircraft in 2013 to 6,580 by 2033.
The value of all deliveries is approximately $300 billion.
Emirates
Emirates said Wednesday that it had received its 50th A380 aircraft, strengthening its position as the world's largest international airline.
This latest delivery takes Emirates' all-wide-body fleet to 224 aircraft, representing the world's largest fleet of A380s, and also the world's largest fleet of Boeing 777s.
After the entry of its 50th A380 aircraft into service by early August, Emirates will offer 5.7 billion available seat kilometers on a weekly basis to 145 destinations which span the globe from Los Angeles to Auckland.
Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways Wednesday released combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for June 2014. Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried a total of 2,611,868 passengers in June - an increase of 5.1 percent compared to the same month in 2013.
The passenger load factor rose by 1.0 percentage points to 85.9 percent while capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, increased by 6.9 percent.
For the year to the end of June, the passenger volume rose by 6.5 percent while capacity was up 5.3 percent.
United Airlines
United Airlines announced Wednesday that they will adopt the B787-9, the newest model of Boeing 787 series, to replace B787-8 for the route between Shanghai and Los Angeles (LA) from March 2015, and the company expected to see an increase of 15 percent of transport capacity after the upgrade finished by May 2015.
From March 2015, the company will adopt the B787-9 for the Shanghai-LA route on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and for LA-Shanghai on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. From May 5, 2015, the B787-9 will be used for the daily round trip for the route.
Korean Air
Korean Air has unveiled an increase in flights on its routes to Americas and Southeast Asia.
From July 24 to September 10, the current 17 times a week flights between Seoul/Incheon and Honolulu will be increased to 21 times a week (3 flights per day).
From July 26 to August 24, the airline will also increase its flights on the Seoul/Incheon-Guam route from 7 times a week to 11 times a week in order to meet the increasing demand on this route.
