Japanese car maker Subaru will recall up to 3,040 vehicles in the Chinese mainland starting on Monday due to flaws with engine control setting.
The vehicles were exported cars to China and of the Forester model, China's top quality regulator said on Monday.
The vehicles were produced between Nov. 6, 2012 and April 18, 2014, said a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The statement said that the flaw could cause abnormal shaking of vehicle body and engine failure, posing risks to safety.
It added the company will upgrade software for the vehicles' electronic control units and fix spark-plugs to remove risks.
