Services exports jump in H1

China's total trade in services rose 15.3 percent year-on-year to $284.7 billion in the first half of 2014, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.

Services exports grew 18.2 percent on a yearly basis to $113.2 billion in the first half, and imports increased by 13.6 percent year-on-year to $171.5 billion.

The role of traditional services, including travel, transportation and construction, is declining in total trade. The three sectors accounted for 58.1 percent of total services trade in the first half, down 3.9 percentage points year-on-year.
