China's gaming industry reaped 49.62 billion yuan ($8.04 billion) in sales revenue in the first six months of 2014, up 46.4 percent from the same period in 2013, Sun Shoushan, deputy director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, said at an industry expo Wednesday.
Mobile gaming revenue hit 12.52 billion yuan in the first half, surging 394.9 percent from a year ago, he said.
The gaming industry achieved sales revenue of 83.17 billion yuan in 2013, an increase of 38 percent year-on-year.
