Wanda Group chairman Wang Jianlin displayed his ambition by telling a CNN interviewer he would buy the American cable and satellite television channel if it was available.
Asked about the expansion and acquisition plans of the biggest Chinese realty conglomerate, Wang said the goal is to make Wanda as well-known as Walmart, IBM or Google. "I could buy CNN if it is for sale," he joked, according to Wanda's official website.
Wanda has made two international acquisitions so far by purchasing US theater chain AMC Entertainment Holdings in 2012 for $2.6 billion and Sunseeker International, a British luxury motor yacht manufacturer, in 2013.
