Foxconn Technology Group was ordered to halt production at its factories in Kunshan, East China's Jiangsu Province, after a deadly blast at a factory in that city on Saturday claimed 75 lives, China News Service reported on Monday.
The shutdown could hinder the production of Apple Inc's highly anticipated iPhone 6 and Xiaomi's Mi4 smartphone, the report said.
Bloomberg cited a statement from Foxconn saying that the company doesn't assemble Apple products in Kunshan and most of its manufacturing takes place elsewhere. Foxconn said it will cooperate fully with the government and take the inquiry and investigation seriously, Bloomberg said.
