China's quality watchdog has started an investigation into possible quality problems in FAW-Volkswagen's Sagitar sedan model, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement e-mailed to the Global Times on Thursday.
There have been several cases of Volkswagen Sagitar cars' rear suspension malfunctioning during driving in the past few months, according to media reports.
The administration is currently reviewing consumers' complaints and has ordered the company to deal with the problem as soon as possible, the statement said.
FAW-Volkswagen said on July 22 that the malfunctions are individual cases and are not a problem with the Sagitar, citing the results of experts' reviews.
