China stocks surge on Tuesday

Chinese shares rose substantially on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.37 percent to close at 2,266.05 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.29 percent to close at 8,043.31 points.
