China tops pharmaceutical material suppliers for Vietnam in 7 months

China is the largest supplier of pharmaceutical materials for Vietnam in the first seven months of 2014, accounting for over 57.46 percent of the total revenue, according to statistics from Vietnam Customs on Friday.

Vietnam's Information on Trade and Industry Center quoted the customs office on Friday as saying that during the seven-month period, Vietnam imported some 120.9 million U.S. dollars of pharmaceutical materials from China, an increase of 43.8 percent year-on-year.

In January-July, the country spent around 210.4 million U.S. dollars to buy pharmaceutical materials from the world market, up 26.47 percent year-on-year.

India ranked the second among Vietnam's 11 suppliers of pharmaceutical materials for Vietnam with revenue of 34.4 million U.S. dollars, up 19.75 percent year-on-year, while Austria stayed at the third place with 8.4 million U.S. dollars worth of products, down 26.19 percent year-on-year.
