Senior executive of top aluminum producer under investigation

Sun Zhaoxue, general manager of the state-owned enterprise Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), is under investigation for "suspected serious legal and disciplinary violations."

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China made the announcement on its website on Monday.

The Chinalco is the country's top aluminum producer.

Sun is former general manager of the China National Gold Group Corp, the country's biggest gold producer.
