Swire cold storage facility

Swire Cold China Logistics's new cold storage facility in Shanghai officially started operation on Friday. The 440 million yuan ($71.66 million) project is Swire's first wholly owned cold storage in the Chinese mainland.

Swire plans to build 13 large modern cold storages in the mainland through 2020 with its cold storage services covering two-thirds of the population in the country.

According to the 2014 China Cold Chain Logistics Development Report, China's fixed-assets investment in cold chain logistics amounted to over 100 billion yuan in 2013, increasing by 24.2 percent compared to the amount in 2012.
