Chinese electronics maker TCL Corp has no plan of purchasing Taiwan-headquartered smartphone maker HTC in the following three months, the company said Saturday.
TCL's statement refuted media reports that TCL President Li Dong-sheng implied an intent to buy HTC on his Sina Weibo account on October 4 when he wrote that cellphone makers from Taiwan and the Chinese mainland should join hands to compete with foreign rivals.
