The German engineering giant Siemens AG plans to cut 1,200 jobs, German media reported on Wednesday.
Most jobs to be cut will be in the energy sector, Bavarian Radio cited sources from the Munich-based company as reporting.
The cut will affect employees in different locations, and they should be notified in the coming days, according to the report.
Siemens confirmed that austerity measures have been planned, but it refused to disclose affected jobs and locations, only saying that Siemens will soon commerce negotiations with employee representatives.
For months, Siemens is facing restlessness within the company because of the radical restructure.
