German car producer Audi AG recalls 850,000 A4 sedan cars worldwide due to possible airbag problems, a Audi spokesman said Thursday.
Because of a software error, airbags might not be activated at the worst case when accidents happen, the spokesman for Audi said in its base Ingolstadt.
In Germany, 150,000 cars, which are produced since the spring of 2012, are affected.
The software needs to be updated, and all affected A4 owners are asked to drive their cars to workshops for a check, according to Audi.
"It will cost about half an hour," said the spokesman.
