China's 4G subscribers reached 43.06 million by the third quarter of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the country's industry watchdog, said in a statement released Wednesday.
All of China's three telecom carriers were granted 4G TD-LTE licenses in December 2013 to offer 4G mobile services across the country.
The country's mobile phone users had totaled 1.27 billion as of the third quarter, according to the MIIT statement.
The statement also disclosed that smartphone shipments had logged 90.51 million during the third quarter in the world's largest smartphone market.
