China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the country's telecom regulator, granted official approval Thursday to the first group of mobile virtual network operators, allowing eight privately owned firms to provide users with repackaged mobile services.
The firms include Beijing-based Xiaomi Technology and Wuxi-based Hongdou Group Co, MIIT said in a statement on its website.
