Crude prices retreated Tuesday as expectation waned that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members would reach an agreement to cut output at a meeting this week.
Light, sweet crude for January moved down 1.69 U.S. dollars to settle at 74.09 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
