Fuel surcharges for domestic routes are set to fall on Friday, the fourth cut since September, Chinese aviation industry news portal carnoc.com reported on Monday.
Starting from Friday, fuel surcharges for routes of no longer than 800 kilometers will decrease from 70 yuan ($11.41) to 60 yuan, while that for routes in excess of 800 kilometers will drop from 40 yuan to 30 yuan, said the report.
The previous downward revision came on November 5 when surcharges were lowered by 10 yuan and 40 yuan, respectively, for domestic routes of no longer than 800 kilometers and for over 800 kilometers.
Following the move, the rate for fuel surcharges for domestic flights would only be half the level during the same period last year.
