China's grain output rose 0.9 percent year-on-year to reach 607.1 million tons in 2014, according to data released on Thursday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The latest figure marked grain output growth for the 11th year in a row since 2004.
The 0.9 percent growth followed a 2.1 percent rise registered in 2013, when total grain production amounted to 601.94 million tons.
Hou Rui, a senior NBS statistician, said that stable government policies toward agriculture, effective enforcement of policies and measures as well as technology contributed to the rise.
