US dollar rises on upbeat GDP report

The U.S. dollar strengthened against most major currencies on Tuesday as report showed the country's gross domestic product (GDP) for the third quarter grew more than expected.

In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.2178 dollars from 1.2224 dollars in the previous session, while the dollar bought 120.73 Japanese yen, higher than 120.01 yen of the previous session.
